Option 1: You don't have to apply the medicaid. The hospital will send the bill to your address. You may pay or reject to pay since the bill is under your mom's name. Your mom has the obligation to pay the bill not you. However, if your mom has no money and no job, the bill can be waived eventually. The hospital will send a report to gov. You know some potion of donation will be used to pay such bills. It wouldn't affect your credit at all.
Option 2: It's very good if the hospital can approve your mom’s medicaid application. Then your mom can go to any hospitals in their net work with a little co-pay. For long term consideration, that’s a good choice. My parents have one and we are very happy to have it. Absolutely, it will not affect you GC application. We got GC already.
Option 3: Pay from your wallet. That's not a good idea.
