什么时候我必须离境签h1b?

什么时候我必须离境签h1b?
两周前刚拿到h1b（ｉ７９７ｂ，　ｒｅｑｕｉｒｅｄ　ｔｏ　ｇｅｔｖｉｓａ　ｉｎ　Ｂｅｉｊｉｇ　Ｃｏｎｓｕｌａｔｅ）, 本人上周file i485,ＯＰＴ grace period(August 20) 马上到期。想等拿到ｒｅｃｅｉｐｔ和 AP再出境。有人说我必须在９／２１之前激活ｈ１ｂ，否则ｈ１ｂ无效。我都不知道怎么订机票好。
