At my time, there is no money requirement if it's for your spouse only to immigrate to Canada. However, your spouse may not go to warefare for 10 years if any difficulties happen. You are liable for any public assistance your spouse may receive. Those requirments are set for your other family members. Not sure if the rules has changed. Go to a local immigration center and ask for an application kit for spousal sponsorship.
