help clarify H1 vs. AP

Regarding the thread "H1/AP回国问题 -zhenniu- 2003-12-13", different people have diff opinions. I encountered similar responses when I consulted different lawyers. It seems that lawyers aren't necessarily familiar with this specific area.

The question is if you have both H1 and AP, which one should you use when entering US? The goal is to maintain both H1 and AOS status.
