Please help

HI
1) My company started gc application for me in August, 2003. Now it is in the first step: labor certificate.
2) I also got married on August 2003, and submitted the I485, I140 in Dec 2003 based on the marriage.

My question is
1) Since marriage gc is a conditional one, and I always want to get gc on my own, I would like the case submitted by my company still keep going. Should I tell my company that I have submitted I485 based on marriage? I don't know if they will stop my case after they know my situation.

2) Even if I don't tell them my situation, it is possible that they will find it out by themself very soon. What will be the consequences if that happened?
