I have same problems. Two I-140s, NIW and EB1A. NIW was approved and EB1A got a RFE (my lawyer deceided to give it up since NIW was filed and sponsored myself). I-485 was linked to EB1A at that time. I also asked my lawywer and several other lawyers (Indian, Chinese, Amerian lawyer) on this problem, all agree that I-485 can be transferrable. My lawyer also wrote a letter to transfer my I-140s. For the consideration of safety, he let me file another I-485 in case that INS has problem or gray area on it (sometime INS makes mistake). I will keep it updated.

Multiple I-485 is permitted if they are based on different I-140s.
