Filing 485 again on EB3 RN

I am an RN and filed 485 without VisaScreen last year and keep working on VisaScreen. Now I got RFE for VisaScreen by the end of October. I know that I cannot get VisaScreen done by that time and need more time to get it. How to buy more time? I was told that I can file a new 485 app on the RFE due date of previous 485 app to keep my 485 pending status consistent because I don't have other status. Does CIS accept new 485 filing on the RFE due date of previous 485 app? There is any other way to buy more time? Thanks.
