IMPRESSION: 1. BI-RADS 0, Incomplete, need additional evaluation. Ovoid and well-circumscribed mass in the upper inner quadrant of the right breast, incompletely evaluated. Recommend patient return for targeted ultrasound for further evaluation.

 

MQSA/ACR Lexicons: BREAST DENSITY: c. Heterogeneously dense, which may obscure small masses Due to the finding of heterogeneously or extremely dense breasts, the following text has been sent to the patient as required by California Health & Safety Code Section 123222.3: Your mammogram shows that your breast tissue is dense. Dense breast tissue is common and is not abnormal. However, dense breast tissue can make it harder to evaluate the results of your mammogram and may also be associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. This information about the results of your mammogram is given to you to raise your awareness and to inform your conversations with your doctor. Together, you can decide which screening options are right for you.

 

EXAMINATION: Digital Mammograms HISTORY: Annual screening examination. Gail model lifetime risk of invasive breast cancer is 5.5%, estimation by patient provided data. The Gail model is unable to estimate lifetime risk of invasive breast cancer in patients less than 35 years old, greater than 85 years old, and in patients with a history of breast cancer or LCIS.

 

FINDINGS: Mediolateral oblique and craniocaudal views of the breasts bilaterally demonstrate heterogeneously dense fibroglandular tissue, which may limit the sensitivity of mammography. Computer aided detection analysis and digital tomosynthesis were performed and used in the interpretation.

 

Ovoid, well-circumscribed 1.1 cm mass in the upper inner quadrant of the right breast approximate 2:00 at middle depth, 3-4 cm from the nipple measured along the skin (CC tomo frame 43, MLO frame 51) no visible distortion or suspicious clustered microcalcifications.
