Jiu-jitsu vs the World

The world promises pleasure, success, and happiness; jiu-jitsu assures

gratitude, health, and tranquility.

 

Pleasure comes from the senses, success from working hard for the boss,

happiness more fleeting than the morning dew. Joy comes from surviving,

health from sweating, and tranquility that lasts the rest of the day.

 

It's painful, but the pains recover and leave me stronger. At about 50,

I chose jiu-jitsu.
