今天刚刚收到Legal通知，H1B批准了（non-cap, PP）。当时递交材料的时候，是连同孩子的H4一起递交的，请问USCIS是会另外生成一个H4的case number、另外再寄Receipt吗？

-Yes. To change the J-2 to H-4, your kid needed to file I-539 together with your H-1 application. This will have a separate receipt notice from your H-1 application (your H-1 was filed by your employer and H-4 should be filed by your kid). Did you hire a lawyer to do it for you? Make sure your kid filed I-539.

现在没有收到关于H4的任何信息，是不是他们根本还没开始启动？还是说，H1B批准的时候，同时孩子的H4就批准了？孩子的J2到7月也就过期了（因为J1到7月结束，已经waive）。如果到那个时候H4还没批准，是不是孩子就没有合法身份在美国了？

-If your kid has filed I-539 to change the J-1 to H-4, then he/she can legally stay in US to wait for the H-4 approval. If he/she has not filed I-539 yet, then he/she needs to leave US now because his/her J-2 was invalid from the day your H-1 was approved.
