Sabrient Baker's Dozen – Overview
Since 2009, Sabrient has published the Baker's Dozen Report at the beginning of each New Year—13 top-ranked stocks that we expect to outperform their peers during the coming year.
Every year of publication -- now 4 years in a row -- the Baker’s Dozen has done just that.
Over the past four years-- in up markets, sideways markets, and turbulent markets -- the Baker's Dozen has outperformed the S&P 500 Index by an annualized average of +12.9% . . . and in 2012, the Baker's Dozen gained 43.05%.
TO SELECT THE BAKER’S DOZEN, we use Sabrient's award-winning quantitative ranking system to identify 50 top-ranked stocks that exhibit strong "growth at a reasonable price,"i.e., GARP stocks. In addition, we use our proprietary Earnings Quality Rank (EQR)—a powerful blend of Sabrient’s quant expertise and subsidiary Gradient Analytics’ forensic accounting expertise—to assess a company’s relative potential risk arising out of accrual accounting practices.
The final stocks are selected from the 50 finalists by Sabrient’s Chief Market Strategist David Brown.
THE RESULT IS A PORTFOLIO OF TOP-RANKED STOCKS representing a diverse cross-section of sectors and industries. Few, if any, of the stocks are household names; yet, their combined performance over a 12-month period is extraordinary.
