A question for EAD,AP and H-1B

Hi friends, does anybody know what the diference between EAD, AP and H-1B? My question is if I hold an H-1B must I apply for the EAD and AP? Because when I am starting to prepare the I-485 petition my lawyer wrote something below:
Apply for the EAD (if you want to apply for EAD - you can use your H-1B to work instead)
Apply for the Advance Parole (if you want to apply for Advance Parole - you can use your H-1B visa instead to travel)
Is that meaning I need not to apply for the EAD and AP because I have an H-1B?
Any response would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
