A child is viewed differently. In China, a child is "secondary" but in west culture, it is first and foremost. A child is symbol of innocence and purity. That is why every politician mention child in their political campaign.

With west side watching so closly on sideline, China did not play it well. Out of their ignorance and lack of knowledge of the west culture, they blundered a big time on such trivial and easy PR thing.

Now, the child's face flies on every newspaper and every web site in the west.
