（德国之声中文网）最先在2015年年底怀疑特朗普团队人员可能与俄罗斯情报人员"有染"的，不是FBI（美国联邦调查局）、CIA（中央情报局）、NSA（美国国家安全局），而是英国的GCHQ（英国政府通信总部），英国《卫报》周四（4月13日）一篇独家报道援引消息人士对此进行了报道。

消息人士表示，该情报信息在例行信息交换中被交给美国情报机构。在直至2016年夏天的随后6个月中，一些西方情报机构分享了有关特朗普的内部圈子与俄罗斯方面进行联系的更多信息。

《卫报》报道称，GCHQ（英国政府通信总部）从来没有为了要打击特朗普或者其团队而主动搜寻相关信息，"那些对话都是在对俄罗斯情报部门进行日常监听时获得的"。
