浪漫古巴之欢乐 - it is quite the opposite if you are Cuban!

It is only 浪漫古巴之欢乐 if you are foreigners who have money.

To the Cubans, there is no 浪漫, nor 欢乐. Otherwise, there would not be boatloads and boatloads of "refugees" trying to "touch down" on American soil.

Living in South Florida, it is almost once or twice a week, we would read news, or watch TV news, that Coast Guards intercepted the boats on the sea. There are usually casualties already onboard - the weaks, the elderlies, the women, who could not stand the journey and died from dehydration. There are usually 30-40 people cramped on a tiny boat.

All their goals are to reach American soil, once their foot set on American soil, they are automatically granted right to stay and become permanent resident. (if you want to know more, you can google the background of it).

To the Cubans, America is the 欢乐 - where they can make a living, they can go to school, they can have medical care, they can raise a family, they can live a modern life....

This is the other side of the coin, and a very real, very prominent one - Cubans live their lives on a day to day basis, while us tourists only visited them for a brief time and only saw the best they can put forward - the tourism $$$ is about the ONLY source of their foreign exchange reserve that they can manage. Every time when Cuban suffers from hurricane damage, there would be big campaign in South Florida for donating money, medicines, clothings, baby formulas, whatever you name it, to deliver to Cubans under the name of Humanity.

Think about it.
