朋友夫妇是从小就在哥斯达黎加长大的中国人，常听他们说起在哥斯达黎加的故事，很新奇有趣。 比如说，当地人早熟，14、5岁就生小孩的大有人在。 更特别的是，传统婚礼习俗是新娘穿黑色丝绸婚纱，配黑色蕾丝面纱，新郎倒是穿全白的礼服，跟现今的白婚纱黑礼服正完全相反。 哥斯达黎加是世界上第一个裁撤军队的国家。 比起其他中美洲各国的频繁内战，这个国家很幸运地保持了长期的安定和平和民主法制。 还有，国土面积的1/4为国家公园，全国森林覆盖率为52%，高度注重生态环保，是名副其实的‘绿色国度’，全国性的口号是"pura vida"（pure life），听起来就很惬意很闲适。 在朋友家吃过好几次哥斯达黎加菜，这次跟这位太太拿了菜谱和特别的调味品，照猫画虎也做了一顿，请他们和另外两家朋友一起来尝尝。 老师很encouraging，一直赞喔。
先介绍哥斯达黎加的万用酱：Salsa Lizano
据说当地人做什么菜都要加上它。 味道吗，有点酸有点甜有点冲鼻。
还有一味调味品，也要加在有肉的菜里面。
青柠烤鱼Tilapia
卷起来做白玫瑰比较好看。 oil, lime, chopped cilantro, garlic, sugar, salt and pepper, with lime on top, 350 degree for 10 min. 另外配了酸酸甜甜的pineapple salsa。
杂酱 Picadillo
很多中美洲国家都有这味传统菜。 哥斯达黎加的版本是用合掌瓜和玉米，加牛肉末一起煮。 像中式的杂酱，香喷喷的一锅，大人小孩都很喜欢，配白饭正好。
5 chayotes, salt, white onion, 4 garlic cloves, 1 small green bell pepper, 1 lb ground beef, 1 cup corn, 2 tbsp cilantro, 1 cup chicken broth. Add Lizano sauce at the end.
红烧牛肉 beef stew
当晚的明星菜，一大锅香浓惹味，用了很多蔬菜。
2 lb beef, 1 chayote, 1 small yucca, 1 small sweet potato, carrots, potato, 1 green plantain, 2 corn cut, 1 onion, 1 cup celery stalk, garlic and bay leaves, 1 tsp ground cumin, 2 tsp dry oregano, salt and pepper. Pour in Lizano sauce.
凉拌棕櫚芯
很喜欢棕櫚芯，清新爽口，浓浓的热带风情。
Hearts of palm, red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, mango, chopped cilantro, fresh lime juice, dijon mustard
凉拌虾仁 Shrimp Ceviche
cilantro, tomato, cucumber, avocado, mango，red onions。 还做了一盘头台。
我家两个厨房小帮手劲头十足要用材料做小点心，只是做着做着材料都进了他们肚子里。。。
煮黑豆
别看其貌不扬，这锅黑豆绵密Q软，很好吃喔。朋友说哥斯达黎加菜最重要的就是米饭和黑豆，几乎一天三顿都有！
用培根和白洋葱炒香，加绿灯笼椒，加入黑豆，我用高压锅25分钟，煮的透透的，再加入lime juice。
卷心菜番茄沙拉
朋友说这是哥斯达黎加最家常的沙拉。用料是：cabbage, tomato, red onion, red pepper, lime juice, salt
1. Thinly slice 1/2 of a cabbage and combine with thin onion, carrot and pepper slices in a medium sized bowl. Mix together and add salt. (Can be done a few hours in advance)
2. When salad is ready to be served, add lime juice and top with tomato slices. Add more salt to taste, if desired.
烤蜜汁芭蕉
要用很熟很熟的芭蕉，用油煎香就好了。
甜点是米饭布丁 rice pudding
• 1 cup uncooked rice
• 1 can sweet condensed milk
• 1 can evaporated milk
• 4 cups of milk
• ½ cup of water
• 2 sticks of cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon fresh nutmeg
• 6 cloves
用电锅把米和牛奶、水一起煮，熟了再加炼乳、淡乳，cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves。最后用cranberries和香蕉、杏仁片，洒肉桂粉装点。
哥斯达黎加菜其实相当简单朴实，有着浓厚的热带风情又透着温和（不辣！）。 从朋友这里听闻的哥斯达黎加美丽多姿，希望有机会能跟他们一起去旅游一番。
