1.Login router,go to the "Services" and set PPTP server to active, save the changes,
2.then set the IP of router (192.168.1.1) for the server IP,
3.under Client IP(s) set a range for connections. (192.168.1.200-210 for example of a ten client set up) 别用DHCP Server用的IP地址(在setup-Basic setup-DHCP处)。我的DHCP Server用的IP地址：start :192.168.1.100,Maximum DHCP Users:50,
4.Under Chap Secret put in username * password * 格式: "用户名 * 密码 *" (*号前有一个空格) Use no capital letters. Also avoid using the # character since this breaks pptp. (This also applies to the router administration password that is included by default in the password file for pptpd.)

Windows Vista Ultimate上的设置：
设置
Control Panel－Network and Sharing Center－Set up a connection or network - Connect to a workplace (set up a dial-up or VPN connection to your workplace)- next- Create a new connection - Use my Internet connection (VPN)- 在Internet address内，将IP地址如69.182.116.247填入。在destination name 内填入一个名字，如 Home. - next - Finish.
在任务栏右键点网络图标- connect to a network - Dial up and VPN - 右键点VPN connection->Properties->Options->PPP Settings->Chose "Negotiate multi-link for single-link connections ->OK (如不作这一选项，则连不上Internet, 在Control Panel－Network and Sharing Center下显示“This computer 与Multiple networks连通，Multiple networks与Internet没连通而显示一个“Ｘ”，但这时用鼠标左键点一下这个“Ｘ”也可连通。）在Windows XP里，"Negotiate multi-link for single-link connections"这个选项在Properties->Networking->Settings里。
连接
在任务栏右键点网络图标- connect to a network - Dial up and VPN - 双击 VPN connection (如要更改IP地址，则右键点VPN connection->Properties->General,把新地址填入,我的Internet不是固定IP,所以IP变化后要在这里改一下IP地址）- 输入用户名/密码进行连接。
从外部internet与家里的网络建立连接后，基本就和在家里共享网络一样了，比方输入192.168.1.1进入router,但进入家里其它电脑的共享文件夹或做Remote Desktop Connection远程控制时不能用电脑名进行连接，而要用电脑的IP地址如192.168.1.123进行连接。
断开连接
在任务栏右键点网络图标- Disconnect from - VPN connection
