请教: laptop with Window 8.1 vs. Window 7

I'm looking for a new laptop with daily use, normal email, internet , need Chinese input.  

No music download or movie download. 

I found out more PCs with Window 8.1 while less choice with Window 7.    Never used Win 8.1 laptop before.      Asking for advice if Window 8.1  is capable and user friendly as Win 7 ?     Do you recommend Win 8.1 laptop?
