Most cable ISP companies have special modem requirement, so Moto is most likely your choice. I am using TW so the Moto modem is free. I will buy a good router with wireless attach to it.
Wireless link has bandwidth limitation that can't reach max therotical speed, eg 300Mbps or 54Mbps. Most of the time it is even slower, and has to share between machine. For wired, it is dedicated 100Mbps to 1,000Mbps.
Wireless connection is a bigger problem for older OS and machines, they tends to get slow to stall from time to time.
All in all, I have 7 PCs all wired, three laptop docks with wire as well. Only iPads and cell phones are wireless. I like my solution. :)
BTW, my TW is 30Mbps at $46 with free modem. Looks like Comcast is too expensive.
