My situation: only one Hard drive installed with Window XP Pro SP2 and set as master drive, but displayed as drive E in "My Computer". If I insert a SanDisk mini cruzer in any of the USB slot, the mini cruzer becomes drive C.
I will buy and install a second hard disk 500GB or 750 GB, partitioned into 4 primary partitions. 3 as different usage of data files, 1 as backup. I don't know if it's better to backup with external hard drive. What software do you recommend for my partitioning the second drive?
If I understand right, the following is what I should do. I backup the whole E drive to one of the partitions in the second drive with ghost. Format the old drive in drive E. Then ghost back my backup from the partition in my second drive to the master drive. Then the master drive's letter should change from E to C. I never used Ghost. Is it the best software for backup?
