Please Help!Infected with the spyware.

Yesterday i logged in my computer which is showed that is infected with the spyware(the bugs are crawling on the screen, yuk!) and asked me download some sofeware to kill it, but the commercial windows kept popping up until it is dead.Does anyone have some ideas to fix this problem? If i reinstall the software, will the data be lost? ( the data is stored at the different area from the operation system.)Thank you very much for your help!!!
