如果我没有理解错误的话，你是在马里兰提交的申请，而后搬去了纽约洲。同时我也假设，在提交申请之前，你已经在马里兰居留多于三个月。
这样说来，你是完全不同的情形。
你的搬家，实是在申请之后。申请之后，你可以任意迁移，法律并无要求，更改地址即可。自然你的申请没有任何问题。
但是楼主的搬家，却是在提交申请之前。且搬家不足三个月，故而申请只能是被 denied 掉，而不是被 rejected.

No person, except as otherwise provided in this title, shall be naturalized, unless such applicant, (1) immediately preceding the date of filing his application for naturalization has resided continuously, after being lawfully admitted for permanent residence, within the United States for at least five years and during the five years immediately preceding the date of filing his application has been physically present therein for periods totaling at least half of that time, and who has resided within the State or within the district of the Service in the United States in which the applicant filed the application for at least three months, (2) ...
