Find a job to support yourself and child.

Don't count on the father anymore. If the father wants to see the kid, let him see the kid several hours per week. As far as the child is not spending 24x7 with him, he won't have too much influence. Tell child the truth about the father, calmly. At least, there is a good example on what not to do.
