Role               : Embedded Engineer

Roles & Responsibility:

1. What is total years of experience?
   1. Ideal 8 - 15 years
   2. Anything beyond 20 years not applicable.
2. What is the experience on embedded side?
   1. Expected to have pure development experience in linux like operating system.
   2. Multi process and multi-threaded applications with debugging experience
   3. Exposure to user space and kernel space (not application development or UI)
3. What is experience on linux?
   1. Should have hands on linux.
4. What is experience on configuration management and CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous deployment)?
   1. Minimum 5 year experience
   2. Check for the tools they have used and any configurations they have with tools for build, deployment and automated test results.
   3. Concept of mainline and different branches, merging, cherry picking changes, tagging, reverting changes etc
5. Programming language experience
   1. Expected to be proficient in C or C++
6. Technical Lead
   1. Minimum 5 year experience
   2. Size of the team managed. Should be five or more
   3. Requirement solicitation and analysis
   4. Estimation for features/requirements
   5. Work breakdown structure (breaking work into smaller tasks)
   6. Tracking activities to closure
   7. Chasing team members to work completed on time and with quality
   8. Working with other teams
   9. stakeholder management
7. What is exposure to feature/defect management systems and code review tools?
8. What is the involvement of candidate in release management activities?
   1. We are expecting candidate to hold some release responsibilities as part of big program.
   2. Mainline, development and release branches: refer to 4.b for more.
   3. Things like spinning a release, deploying release to devices in production. Monitoring releases in field. Collection of release metrics in production and analysis etc
