Exactly. I once promoted a Chinese to be a lead of a team, only after one month, the guy sent an email to the VP complaining my whole design was wrong and asked the VP for a one to one meeting. The VP forward the guy's email to me and telling me that he told the guy my design was solid and he should follow it.

So sad.
