要主动和manager汇报工作吗

我的manager只管出差之类的杂事，具体工作让另外一个mentor管我，平时开会我是和另外的组telemeeting。

我需要主动要求定期给manager发简短的报告么？比如biweekly的？

有一点担心的是我的mentor也是同一个manager，我发报告的时候当然也会cc给这个mentor。不知道这个mentor会不会觉得我多事。
