No, not at all. I was just sharing some my thoughts.

After 11 years in “Hi-tech vanguard”, I started to think about this and look for exit. I eventually caught a chance and said good-bye to them after a couple of years.

You paid your visibility for working at home and, after such a long time in one company, you may have been stereotyped unintentionally. That is, you may not be noticed by anyone except your line manager who may take you as a resource. This is why you do not have the feeling of success since you might not be demanded.

I was actually fine in “Hi-tech vanguard” in term of climbing “technical ladder” and I needed a stable period for my family. However, after so many years, I sensed a kind of “stagnation” in my career especially a rare chance of system architect was cancelled.

Somehow, a calculated change may bring you some surprises and you may find you can do quite well on other positions.

I was simply saying PM may not be the best choice for many IT veterans and I’ve worked with 4 PM’s – one bad, two good and the other very good. You actually need to find a job that you enjoy doing it.

Good luck!
