诚实和正直关系到你的生存和成功,总的来说要 positive。被裁的确不是什么大不了的事。一个大的设计中心的关闭，有很多天才工程师就要从新找工作。其他招人的公司实际上是很看重这个招聘机会的。很多招工部的人都知道，被裁者不一定是应为performance 的缘故。

You may try the following: “As you know, the site was closed down in the current economy circumstances. Although I'd been doing fine with my job, unfortunately I was one of the casualties. I'm currently actively looking for a new job since I'm confident of my technical skills and I also would like to take this opportunity to find a more prospective career path and so on …”

你的自信本身就说明你的被裁与你的 performance 没关系。以前的工作只是你career path 的一站而已。
