Position: GIS Web Developer

Location: Lincoln, NE

Relocation: Will Consider

Salary: up to $52k DOE. Cost of Living in Lincoln, NE is very low.

Duration: Direct hire. Will consider contract to hire.

Start: Immediate

Process: There will be at least 1 Phone Interview. 2^nd phone interview with Lead Developer. One Face to Face. (Will pay/reimburse for the on-site interview flight cost).

Status: Will sponsor H1B. Students finishing up their OPT would be great.

This position does qualify for a bonus and raises and this is performance based.

Adobe Flex, MS Silverlight, VB.Net, Visual Studio and knowledge of DB concepts are the most important skills along with knowledge/experience with GIS

Job Description:

Experienced Web developer looking for an exciting job in the Geographic Information System market. The position involves working with a graphic designer and a team of developers to create internet mapping applications with Esri ArcGIS Server and the Adobe Flex API.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Participate in software requirements discussions
- Consult with other developers on design strategies
- Write program code
- Test and debug program code
- Deploy product to web server or client machine
- Maintain communication with client throughout development process

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
Define, design, code, test, support, debug and implement complex, object oriented multi-tier distributed software applications
-Perform unit testing and integration testing of all project components.
-Converts graphical mockups to standards compliant with HTML/CSS.
-Integrates new technologies into the web site.

 

Skills:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Technical Degree
- Web-based development: ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML
- Windows Desktop development: .NET
- Relational Databases: Microsoft Access, MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server
- Windows Server environment, basic networking
- C++, Java, PHP, Adobe Flex, Microsoft Silverlight
- Other relational databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL
- GIS Software Development (such as ESRI ArcGIS, Google Maps)

GENERAL BUSINESS SKILLS
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Learn new technologies quickly and with minimum assistance
- Able to discuss, verbally and in writing, technical items to non-technical people
