sub-contract must be carefully reviewed before moving. It's not uncommon that due to unacceptable terms contractors walk away. There are a lot of clauses in the contract, some are generic such as "in any circumstances this contract cannot be interpreted that you are an employee of xxx", "hold harmless to xxx", ownership of the products/copyrights during the contract, etc; some are important and you must be firm - payment term (30 days?); in case of breach of contract, which state laws apply and what the interest rate for failed payment is? How long can you be hired directly by this end client after termination of the engagement?

Be aware that contract employment is a business activity, no any departments of government will intervene although they know you are the one being exploited. Be cautious with those small indian companies.
