Haha, it happened to me too. But I was in your boss's seat. My laptop got infected with virus. But unfortunately I had to host a lot of meetings via NetMeeting. So at the very beginning of every meeting, I told every one on conference call "my dearest friends, my laptop is infected, I have no control on what might pop up." For a while, it was just various "normal" ads. But starting on one day, it got hooked to dirty ads. You can imagine how I embarrassed. I was always competing to close the ads while I was speaking. Luckily or unluckily, it was all conf calls, so I could not tell how the other people reacted to it. I just heard laughters. Our desktop support team could not cleaning up all the virus. At the end, they gave me a new laptop. For that period of time, I told people multiple times - if I disappeared one day, that must be because HR got report that I broadcasted dirty images at meetings. So, I think it is possible that your boss's laptop got infected.
