Job Summary: GENERAL SUMMARY
Perform complex protein characterization assays. Participate in development, optimization, and qualification of protein characterization methods. Apply acceptable cGMP practices during execution of all applicable work tasks. Work independently with moderate supervisory guidance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Perform protein characterization assays.
2.Participate in optimization of old assays and optimization and development of new assay methods and write SOPs with guidance. Compile/analyze data.
3.Conduct test method qualification following pre-defined protocols for new assays.
4.Write validation protocols/reports with guidance.
5.Demonstrate initiative to assure performance of all routine and non-routine responsibilities.
6.Apply acceptable cGMP practices during execution of applicable work tasks.
7.Exhibit strong teamwork and communication skills.
8.Use scientific expertise to assist with troubleshooting, laboratory investigations and problem resolution. Suggest process improvements to dept. management.
9.Work independently with moderate supervisory guidance.
10.Update Management of progress. Seek additional guidance as needed.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
1.B.S., or M.S. in related science such as Biology, Biochemistry or Protein Chemistry.
2.B.S. requires 2-3 years, M.S. requires 1-2 years of related bioanalytical method development, qualification, and method transfer experience.
3.Must have protein handling experience.
4.Must be able to perform experiments independently.
5.Exposure to cGMP or GLP regulations is desirable.
6.Experience in N-terminal sequencing, oligosaccharide/monosccharide determination preferred.
7.Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Attentive to detail. Good computer skills.
8.Ability to work independently, achieves problem resolution, troubleshoot and develop/validate assays with moderate supervisory guidance.
