上周五，美国政府的数字表明，12月份有524,000人失去了工作，失业率上升至7.2%。现在有超过1千万的美国人失业，还有更多的数以百万计的美国人在担心自己的工作保障。

纽约时报邀请了几位学者，作家，劳工律师，心理学家及人力资源管理顾问讨论当今的经济形势引起的焦虑对个人与整个经济的影响。

在读者的评论中，见到一段很有实际意义的建议。与其抱怨，愤怒，泄气，不如试试能做到的。事情总会好起来的。在美国捡煤块不敢说可行，但种园子收获的可不止是瓜菜呀。

1 . 不和低级管理人员争吵。
2 . 把你的门关上。
3 . 不要提供更好的建议
4 . 不要离婚
5 . 不要超支
6 . 以配偶中较低的一方的工资水平过日子
7 . 存钱
8 . 准备在五种不同的工作岗位工作
9 . 在自己的院子里种菜，德国人在二战之后就是这样做的
10 . 从农民合作社购买大包装的大豆，稻米和谷物，$8.5 可以买60磅的小麦
11 . 降低取暖或空调的温度，穿毛衣，象英国人那样做。沿着铁路捡煤块，我们的父母这样做过
12 . 象许多欧洲人一样骑自行车
13 . 去教堂，这对我有帮助
14 . 不要失去你的人性和激情知道这些办法听起来可能很傻，并已经过时，但我们的父母这样做过。

4. Donot get divorced
5. Donot over spend
6. live off what is the lower salary of the spouse
7. Save money
8. prepare for five different jobs
9. Grow a garden in your yard, that's the Germans did after WWII
10. buy bulk beans, rice and grains from a farmeros coop.$8.50 will buy 60 pounds of wheat.
11. Turn down the heat and A/C, wear sweaters like they do in England. Pick 160;160;160; up coal along the railroad track, our parents did.
12. ride a bike, like many do in Europe.
13. Go to church, it helps me.
14. Donot lose your humanity and passionI know these may sound silly and out of date, but our parents did this.
And lastly always remember, man did not survive for the past 100,000 years saying , “woe me I cant do it. ” but say, YES I CAN.
