I kinda like the German accents. Absolutely fascinating to hear these accounts of the war. I can't stop listening. It's hard to turn it off to go to bed, been losing sleep. Great channel! This channel is simply awesome These men who fought in WW2 were submitted to hell on earth on all sides. For half this video i was wondering what the hell a "pay our car" was and then i was like ooohh, a PAK lol Before any other comment I'd like to thank you for transcribing and posting this . My father fought during WW2 and in fact landed on Omaha beach so I have quite an interest in listening to these accounts and it helps me understand what he in fact did face on D-Day , particularly as he never spoke in any detail about D-Day. This was a rare treat, thank you. I got about halfway through and started to smell a rat. Too many similarities between the interviewees. I started researching and found out that the books are likely a hoax. Too bad. I got suckered in and was really enjoying this window into the mind and world of the German soldier. Paranoia wasn't invented yesterday. The typhoon bomb described is the same as one of the larger bombs used by the British in WW1. That consisted of a bomb casing filled with coal dust and liquid oxygen. It had a four hour shelf life after being filled with liquid oxygen and was known to cook off. This is interesting. The German veterans I have spoken to, 2 wehrmach and 1 Luftwaffe pilot, had all been on the Russian front, one of which had been captured by the russians. Does your channel get immediately demonetized? The military policeman on the Zundapp lost me when he said the officer was executed by a French woman with a single shot 9 mm, why didn't they hear the pistol fire? 22:10 I like where he correctly said the British empire instead of just the British. One has to remember that the British acquired the empire by military aggression. wow, most excellent, so where is book 1? One nation facing the greatest now superpowers. Hmm He said if he was going to recruit soldiers, he would start with Canadians. Now that says a hell of a lot about thier professionalism. In combat and most of all IMMEDIATELY AFTER the fighting slows down, and then comes to a stop! Most say that about the Canadian fighting forces, all of them. From the different documentaries from several other wars that I've seen over the decades. “Oh yeah bro we totally had a thermobaric bomb we would’ve won if it hadn’t uuuuuuh- checks notes wipes his ass with notes been hit by an allied fighter bomber, yeah, and we couldn’t build more because ummmmm downs a whole box of panzerschokolade -aluminum, yeah, we didn’t have aluminum, they didn’t make anything out of aluminum, right?” Typhon B very original name. The winners write history but this is so refreshing -regardless. Sometimes the voice actors of audiobooks of German experiences come across as so “cartoony” that it’s hard to listen too.Maybe context is lost in translation. Regardless of which side men fought for, the bravery and of all men involved in combat is absolutely astounding. Atrocious behaviour on the battlefield was also carried out by all sides involved, so to call out individual armies over others doesn’t make sense to me. War is hell, and the real hero’s on both sides are the men and women who never returned home. Thoroighly brilliant and educational. Bravo. Ravi from Australia This is great ?????????????????????????????????????????????? I really don't like the attempt at a German accent. It's intensely annoying. Hard to explain in France...... but in Russia murder of unarmed men needs no explaining. Ahhh Stalin and the Allies are such deserving victors. It wouldn't of changed the outcome of the war. The war would of just last a little longer. Germany would of been nuked first instead of Japan. The nukes were being built to use on Germany. The Germans were very profecient at destroying Sherman's and T-34s, the only thing more profecient was the allies ability to mass produce them. I notice that you post audio books, which are currently under copyright. Is the add revenue you get from commercials get to the copyright holders? The narrator sounded like a computer voice, bad choice. One day Germany will rise again and get revenge on Russia! You really trying to make Germans soldiers look stupid but reality was the opposite... yes sir just read ....no need to dramatize with accent...it detracts rather than |
