作为军校， 职责就是学习研究对手或潜在的敌人， 美军在朝鲜， 越南吃了多少PLA 的亏， 如果他们仍然不对中国军队的政治， 军事， 战略战术不进行研究的话， 那才叫叫白--痴， 就像这里某些反华小丑那样无知自大？美军没有那么傻。
西点主修军事课程，有汉语课 ， 必然要收集 有关中国军队的资料， 毛泽东， 彭德怀， 雷锋这些人物想必他们都是耳熟能详的。
美军强调助人为乐， 互相帮助，先人后己 这样的雷锋精神 一点不假。如果军队连这些都做不到还怎么打仗？
一样， 中国军校， 就有专门关于的外军的课程。如果连这些都不做的话， 难道真白吃？

美国西点军校内，曾悬挂过雷锋像？这是真的！寻访回来后的杭州雷锋馆馆长马水泉证实。
他们为何挂雷锋像？雷锋之于他们，又是怎样的一种形象？
寻找之旅，源于一张照片：西点军校一间教室的墙壁上，挂着雷锋肖像。这张照片，曾被用在西点军校招生简章上。
与马水泉一起寻访的，还有这张照片的“发现人”原浙工大副校长田志芳。他曾在上世纪80年代末期，担任中国驻美国大使馆一等秘书。那张挂有雷锋像的照片，就是他当时参观西点军校时，从校方给的资料里发现的。
在西点军校公共事务办公室的专家Jim Fox的口中，这张照片的真实性得到再次证实。
出示这张照片后，他立即认出了，“这是我们以前招生简章里的一张照片。”他知道，雷锋是中国最著名的军人。
雷锋像，则挂在西点军校的汉语教室里。上世纪80年代，西点军校的部分学员将汉语作为外语选修。汉语教材的课本里，会讲解中国的历史文化。而雷锋，也被编写进了教材。
学员们，便在教室挂起了雷锋像。要知道，那个年代，找到一张印有中国字的雷锋像并不易。“Jim Fox猜测，可能是学员们从当地的汉语图书馆找的。”田志芳说。
西点军校的雷锋像，意味着什么呢？“可见，雷锋在那儿还是有影响力的。西点军校的学员，对于雷锋也是持友好的看法，他们也崇尚雷锋助人为乐的精神。”
原本，他们还想找寻西点军校的汉语教官马科斯。
其实，早在在2002年，抚顺雷锋馆纪念馆馆长张淑芬，就曾访问过西点军校，想要找寻雷锋踪迹，但却没有收获。田志芳得知此事后，便将照片捐给了他们。
2004年，马科斯带着六名学员回访抚顺雷锋纪念馆，还在这张照片前合影了。因为照片里的人他全认识，有他的同学，也有他的老师，这张合影现在也留在抚顺雷锋纪念馆。
但3年前，马科斯离开了西点军校。
马水泉的声音，透出了遗憾。其实，他挺想与马科斯交流，探讨一下雷锋精神。

Whether a U.S. military academy once displayed a certain poster in the ‘80s might not seem a matter of vital urgency.
But this week, China’s military newspaper, the People’s Liberation Army Daily, devoted some of its firepower to a prolonged discussion just what specimen of wall decoration West Point cadets preferred decades ago. Its goal: to prove that the U.S. military academy did indeed once demonstrate an affection for Lei Feng, a Mao Zedong-era icon known for his many acts of mundane do-gooding.
In both its print edition and on its confirmed Weibo account on Wednesday, the paper shared a grainy, blown-up photo described as a room within West Point, in which a photo of Lei Feng can be seen hanging on a wall behind a few men in uniform with heads bowed in study.

“It can be concluded,” the paper wrote: “West Point Military Academy has discussed the image of China’s Lei Feng.”
Across China, workers are still urged to learn from Lei Feng, with his poster adorning everything from subway entrances to workplaces. According to Chinese Communist lore, the furry-hatted icon was wont to darn socks for his fellow soldiers and skip meals for the benefit of his broader platoon.
In a separate online article, the publication cited multiple experts on the question of whether West Point did indeed make a practice of glorifying Lei Feng. Some said that while the poster might have been hung, such a display didn’t necessary indicate a desire to emulate the Chinese icon. One expert cited suggested it was part of an attempt to familiarize cadets with Chinese military idols.
Calls to West Point’s public affairs office rang unanswered during Asian business hours.
The treatise on the topic was inspired by a post earlier this week by a Chinese ex-journalist who publicly recanted a decades-old report that the U.S. military looks up to Lei Feng. The ex-journalist said he had been fooled by an April Fool’s Day report in the U.S.
Still, the PLA Daily concluded that the poster’s presence or lack thereof was ultimately immaterial (its 2,000-character print article notwithstanding): “Chinese people have loved and learned from Lei Feng for more than 50 years, we don’t need to use the question of whether West Point hung a poster of Lei Feng or learned from him to prove anything. Because we are full of confidence in Lei Feng’s spirit, and we are full of confidence in the People’s Army,” it wrote.
