that would be the sweetest Linsanity come back drama, unveiling in front of us.

I didn't get the chance to watch the game, so only caught the highlight on NBA TV. I didn't give Lin and Co. much chance today, against one of the most consistent and strongest road teams in Spurs. However, with Harden being out, I knew Lin would put up respectable numbers.

But oh boy, what numbers - a career high tying 38 points, while dishing out 7 times, along with 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks, but only 2 TOs. Those numbers just shout confidence in your face, without need to watch the game. Linstanity was about confidence, and it also led to wins.

Only if Lin's last failed attempt to put up a shot could have changed to a step in and then step back dagger in Green's face, the Toyota Center would have rocked, and the national media would have been all over Linstanity 2.0 again. Well, it's not Hollywood, after all.

But overall, I am really happy for Lin, especially after the disheartening benching, underserving, if I may add. He seems to get the lift in his jumpers back, especially evident in the fade away jumper to equalize at 117. Lin was still sharing the ball, and the team as a whole were having nice offensive output. Defense is still a huge problem for the team, as we always see in young teams, lacking of discipline and consistent effort and poise.

This could be another statement game, to show the doubters that he still has it in him. He needs support and he needs the ball in his hands. As many ISOs as Harden has been running (well, Lin had quite some for himself today), I don't see Harden as Steve Francis kind of ball hogger. I still believe Harden is a willing passer. Lin and Harden, they are both young, and they are learning each other, to play off each other.

We need to be more patient and I think good things will happen.

There is no moral victory, but this game serves a grander purpose - reminding us, and Lin himself, he could be very good, when he's on.

Hopefully, Lin and the Rockets team can build on this performance.
