Great Neck's area is more suitable for your current situation. Good school area, your hu*****and can take the long island railroad to Manhattan. kids will enjoy that town. Renting is a good option. The houses are old and expenisve if you want to buy and tax is over $8000 per year at least.

You cannot rent a decent place in Manhattan with that price range.
