上班也神情恍惚。部门大头看出来了，除了很深沉地对我说“I'm truly sorry..."其他什么也没说。刚收到大头发给全部门的有关Earthquake preparedness的email, 在此转贴一下，供大家参考。虽然有点亡羊补牢之嫌，但希望对幸运的我们能起到防患于未然的科普作用吧。班长若觉得不合适，就删掉吧。）

身在异乡，除捐款和电话问候这点绵薄之力外，剩下的只能为受灾地区的父老乡亲们默默祈祷了......

Below is also some literature that relates to personal protection as there are conflicting reports which you may have seen on what we should do during a seismic event, namely addressing the risk associated with the type of collapse/failure buildings are exposed to. See below and I encourage you to read up on it as well in your off time - there are volumes of literature available.

Hopefully we do not see such an event in our lifetime, but should it happen the best we can to is be prepared.
