急！意大利签证怎么这么烦：）

5月中要去意大利，3月底就在网上预约签证interview。可一直没收到通知interview日期，于是再去领事馆网站查看，发现他们改了电话预约。而且这个电话服务按$2.49/分钟收费。结果电话里说最早的日期是5月底！只好致电领事馆，结果还是没人接听。
请问我现在该怎么办？去另外的申根合约国拿签证去意大利，可行吗？那个国家的签证没那么麻烦？谢谢各位热心人了！！！
