If Hu has no personal benefit from the accord, he cannot be accused of "selling" the country. The US deliberately devaluates its dollar to jack up oil prices with an obvious intent of choking off the Chinese economy. They bankrupted the former USSR by doing the opposite of what they are doing now: jack up the US dollar and suppress oil prices. China must survive this attack by all means.
