The other day, I was watching a video clip of Sam Cassell talking about mid-range games, and how he uses a little bump to create space and drain his fade aways. I thought about Yao Ming immediately. What if Yao could make it a habbit, either as Dream suggested to lean in, or do as Sam does, using a little bump to create space for your fade away. If Yao does that, I don't think anybody can block his fade aways, not even Howard, not to mention frigging Memet Okur.
That's a fair but interesting take.
I believe he has all the tools to be great, but never really had a mentor to lead him to get there, especially mentally. Let's imagine, what if he hadn't have to commit to those meaningless Asian games or friendship games, and less commercial activities during off-season, he would actually to be able to rest well and work on his games. What if he could spend more time with Dream during summer time?
