Time start to count AFTER the ball hit the rim.

No matter how you spin it, they only need probably 0.3 second to catch the ball and call timeout right away. REFS EXPECT that to happen, and they WILL put time back on the clock, AT LEAST for 0.4 second. That's how Fisher got that shot.

Don't you see the difference? If you make, and they make that miracle shot, it's overtime on your homecourt. If you miss, intentionally or unintentionally, and they make that miracle shot, it's a loss for you. If they don't make, you win either way. Now tell me, what's the rational choice?
