One gap, the defender is expected to tackle any running back. If passing play, the defender is toward to QB.
Two gap, Two-gap tackle is more complicated, which requires more skills and discipline to read the play. The defender must quickly diagnose the blocking scheme to determine which of his gaps is more vulnerable.
