I used to decline all insurance options because I have

full coverage plus the credit card protectoin like you said but recently I've at least add the basic insurance which covers the loss of use and other cr*ps the car rental company throw at you. But that's just me. I know I may never needs to use it, but it buys me some peace of mind.
