1. Everyone is complaining JVG didn't play, now he's playing him, obviously he isn't ready, because his defense sucks big time.
But seriously, the only reason JVG played Novak early was because it was a back-to-back road game. Hayes is too foul-prone, and he will be solely missed in later games. But still, he got his 6 fouls in a prompt fashion.
2. Suns always does a good job in fronting Yao Ming to deny him the ball. Why he only had 3 shots? Because a) Suns are playing him well, and he's getting the balls out of his comfort zone. b) his early fouls limited his aggressiveness
3. In 4th quarter, Suns adjusted again, and totally collapsed on Yao Ming. They dared other Rockets to beat them, and they won the bet.
It was a back-to-back road game, you could obviously see Yao was tired in the 4th, and most starters are, especially after huge effort in the 3rd. Suns got their 3 days rest and played at home.
39 3 pointers are a lot, and obviously too many, way too many. However, most of them are wide open ones, except for some ill-advised ones from TMac.
TMac played like crap and shot too much. Rafer shot too much as well. The main problem tonight was lacking of penetration. Nobody drives and goes to the line. If the 3s aren't falling, they have to mix it up. TMac set very bad example, and Rafer needs to be on short leash. Yao Ming has to learn to deliver hard fouls and learn to play with foul trouble.
I've see too many blames going to the coach's way. It's always easy to blame the coach, but if no alternative strategy was offered, that blame is not valid. Obviously, playing Novak isn't going to save the team, as so many claimed.
