It makes some sense, but many things you didn't

consider. You know that US military suppresed many news from Iraq and even killed a few journalist by "accident". Therefore how can you trust such media blackout and incompleteness? You couldn't sense any trouble perhaps you didn't appreciate the gravity of the situation there through the limited info that gets back to the US media. I hear the same thing as you did but doesn't mean it is fine there. Why don't you look around in other nations news on Internet and check it out for yourself?

Also, please remember the reason that US invaded Iraq was mainly for oil and setup a sympathetic government in the mideast along with Isreal. In the end, they maybe getting a government that is sympathetic toward Iran. This the trouble that caused the most headache for US government right now. How to separate church and state in a religious country like Iraq?

Again, please more strategic in thinking and gather more different sources of news rather purely rely on one source of information and think rather naively.
