population in US thought that Canada is too liberal. Canadian social policy may sound good to many people. But it has been argued that such a policy really stifle free market economy. Slowly Canada, a high welfare state, lost millions of business every year. With it, employment rate remain staggering and show no sign of relief. Naturally, if one can live on welfare comfortablely, why bother to work? Besides, working is not really rewarding. With that high income tax(in order to maintain welfare system), people simply do not get motivated. Businesses get taxed out of their profit higher than most of developed countries and simply do not want to expand or stay in the country.

Gradually, Canada becomes what it is now.

I kind of agree with this argment. From my 15 years experience of living in US, I weathered pretty well in 2 recessions and never feel pessimistic about US job market. I believe in free-market economy. small government and lower tax

But I have never been to Canada in my life. Maybe it is not what I thought.
