Question about Ulstroud Scan

I am in australia, and I saw my OB the first time at 11 weeks, I just token some blood smaple but not U/S, they make appoint of first Y/S at week 18. I wonder, how can I know my baby is alright?? shall I wait or pay myself to get U/S??
