In USA, company's HR always want to pay as low as they can to keep the worker. On the other hand, worker should always want to get as higher salary as you can. HR is the one will decide your salary not your boss. In a lot of company, white worker get paied more than chinese because they ask more and chinese do not ask more. To HR, if you ask more, simple because you think in this job market, your skill deserver more. If you don't ask, then you don't think you deserver more.They think company pay fair salary to you.
