1. If you (and your boss) have been active and have reasonable amount of personal contacts, then find a postdoc in a better known place. After a couple of years you will be doing different things and what you did for Ph. D doesn't matter.
2. If what you are doing is rather narrow, then finish your degree (there is no point getting a master in the same area when you are close to getting a higher degree), cut your loss, and start on a new track.
3. Having said the above, if you really want a Ph.D in this field from a good school, then act now. You can not get two doctoral degrees in the same field. Your boss and your school will be very unhappy about this (for a good reason) and don't count on any help from them.
